More ex-Armed Forces personnel are being hired at global capability centres (GCCs), The Times of India reports. GCCs hired around 24,000 veterans in FY24, compared to 10,000 a decade ago, says Devashish Sharma, CEO of recruitment firm Taggd. In fact, companies like Amazon, AT&T, Wells Fargo, Carelon Global Solutions, and Deutsche Bank, among others, have dedicated programmes to hire ex-servicemen. While they have traditionally been onboarded in areas such as facilities management or HR, GCCs will hire veterans for more senior and higher functional roles, says Kedar Pathak, a talent specialist at staffing firm Xpheno. Specialised courses at B-schools like the IIMs and ISB are also recording higher enrollments from transitioning defence personnel, the report adds.
